Without a certain route but with the idea of going on secondary roads, my dog Arun and I were preparing to travel in Northern Europe during the autumn of 2016. My initial thought eventually became a road trip from Spain to the most northly point of Europe that can be reached by driving, Nordkapp, Norway.
Two months and 16000 km traveled, living in my van in temperatures up to -7º . Without a concrete plan, exploring big capitals and small villages, dream forests and desolate places by the cold, plain lands painted in ocher and impressive fjords that make you feel insignicant.
This is how The Solitude of Beauty was born, a photographic work that goes deep into the cold, the beauty and the solitude of northern Europe. Through black and white, between artistic and travel photograhy, it shows the most poetic part of the cold and the solitude that beauty can bring.
